History
THE LOST AND FOUND OLDIES SHOW is a weekly radio program that airs on WVKR 91.3 FM out of Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. The show premiered in July, 2002 on WBAI 99.5 FM in New York City and resurfaced on VKR in February, 2004 on a rotating basis. It settled into a permanent time slot of Fridays 3-5pm in May, 2004 and gradually amassed a following thanks to a strong lead-in by the very popular "Primitive Show".
I left WVKR in July 2010 to devote more time to Cold Spring Radio. I returned to WVKR in August 2011 in the Saturday 1-3pm slot. The show's been expanded an hour til 4pm effective May 12, 2012.
The current format features approximately 1 hour of mid 60s pop rock tunes followed by a "flashback" segment featuring songs and sound bites from a particular week in rock history from the early 60s to the late 70s. The third part of the program will feature "lost and found 45s" with disucssion by listeners and/or special guests on the merits or lack thereof of each tune.
